Through Pleasant Places Training Academy, she consults, trains, supervises and mentors hundreds of teachers, tutors, therapists, parents and other professionals annually. As an experienced trainer, she uses participatory learning approaches that emphasise case studies, facilitated discussion, collaborative problem-solving, practical demonstrations, microteaching, guided reflection and direct application to classroom and therapeutic practice.
Daisy is currently a PhD researcher investigating inclusion, academic attainment and educational outcomes for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities through the Capability Approach. Her perspective combines research, professional expertise and lived experience as a parent.
She is the author of three books: The Road No One Plans, Teach That Child and Help That Child. Her overarching mission is to move beyond labels, reduce exclusionary practices and equip parents and professionals with the tools, mindset and confidence to teach every child effectively.
